These
are some of the exciting new developments that have recently
taken place during preparations for our 1000km
fundraising cycle ride around Tonle Sap Lake in December
this year.
Permission has now been given, for us to take part in
the International Day of Disabled Persons activities in
Phnom Penh on 3rd December. This will help us to promote
the event and will provide excellent opportunities for
media coverage.
We will now be joined on our three week cycle, by a
key team member of The Cambodian National Volleyball League
(Disabled), Man Veasna, who is currently recognised as
the World No.1 ‘Spiker’ (photo at right
in training). Veasna’s
participation in our event is wonderful news, as he is
a well known sporting
identity in Cambodia and he’s involvement should
create considerable interest. Our planned meetings with
community groups in regional and rural areas should now
become far more effective in creating awareness to the
needs of the disabled community.
Plans are also now under
way, for our ‘Fun-Cycle’ ride, that will be
held in Phnom Penh prior to the main event. This will probably
be taking place by the Riverside and through encouraging
participation by the general public, will serve to increase
awareness as well as providing a fun day for all who share
it with us. Children from the Rabbit School and House of
Smiles group home also hope to be there to enjoy the occasion.

We wish to thank you for your interest
in our CyCleCambodia event and would like to remind you that
all monies kindly donated, will benefit Cambodian children
living with a disability.
