FRIENDS OF interPART
The organisation, incorporated in Australia, began
operating in 1998. It is a volunteer-managed humanitarian and
fundraising body.
The objects of interPART include the following:
- To provide and to arrange, on a free or subsidised basis, professional
and technical assistance to programs and projects for the most
vulnerable groups within Australia and overseas, and to make
donations of money and in kind to such groups.
- To develop, implement,
monitor and evaluate programs and projects
for the most vulnerable groups in partnership with local organisations.
A Committee of twelve persons is responsible for the management
of the organisation. Office bearers include the Chairperson, Deputy
Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. The majority of the current
membership of eighty six persons reside in South Australia although
most Australian States are represented. Strong links are also maintained
with overseas colleagues and associated organisations.
Sub-committees and reference groups are formed for a specific
issue or task and are generally time-bound. Topics have included
community-based development, peace and war, special events, fundraising
and communications.
