TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Training people with disabilities to become
Rehabilitation Assistants was an extensive program that
took place in the Sudan and Ethiopia some years ago.
Many of the technical and professional staff who did
the training are now members of Friends of interPART.
Following the end of the military activities
in Ethiopia most of the former trainees went to work
in government hospitals in Tigray, Ethiopia. Being one
of the poorest countries in the world there is still
a need for support to be given to physical rehabilitation.
Contact with former trainees has resulted in Friends
of interPART being
asked for technical assistance in the form of on-going
training, text books and items of basic equipment and
supplies.
In a country with very limited services,
such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy, Friends
of interPART is
responding to this request. |
